What you need to know
Art Start: At the start of each class there will be a warm up question on the board.
Projects: Assignment sheets will be handed out and found here at the start of every new project. These sheets will contain what the assignments are, the procedures for completing it, and what needs to be included to get full credit. Rubrics and artist statements will be completed after the completion of each assignment.
Sketchbooks: Everyone should have a 9”x12” sketchbook with at least 50 pages in it. You can find these at any crafts store (Hobby Lobby, Micheal's ect.) We will be using these sketchbooks in and out of class so they must be with you at all times! Assignments will be given to you at the beginning of each month and will be turned in at the end of each month, they will NOT be printed.
Exams and Quizes: Short quizzes will be given at the end of ever unit. Written exams will be given at the end of each semester. These exams will be cumulative. There will also be small quizzes throughout the coarse that will serve as a review of concepts.
Participation/Life Skills: Every day when you come to class you will complete an “ART START” this is a quick reflective question that will be one the board. You will be given the first 5 minutes of class to complete this and each one is worth one point of your participation. Your participation grade will also depend on your participation in group critiques and your classroom behavior.
Turning in Work: Turn your work on time. Due dates are final and will be posted on t the front board. If there is a concern with the ability to complete an assignment please see me. Remember I am always here for tutoring and you can also check out supplies if you feel you need more time on a project.
Make up Work: If you are out of school you are required to stay for tutoring when you return to finish the work that was missed, often our projects will be to big to be taken home. You will have one extra day after you come back to school to turn in work.
Late Work: I will accept work ONE DAY LATE for a lower grade. If it is not turned in you will revive credit for what you have finished and receive a ZERO for the work you have not completed.
